Ingredients
- 1 pound chicken breasts (boneless, skinless)
- 1 cup chicken broth (or water)

- 0.25 teaspoon black pepper (freshly ground, adjust to taste)
Instructions
- Place the chicken breasts or thighs in the Instant Pot.
- Add 1 cup of chicken broth or water to the pot.
- Season the chicken with salt, pepper, and any desired spices.
- Close the lid and set the valve to sealing.
- Select the 'Pressure Cook' or 'Manual' setting and set the timer for 10 minutes for fresh chicken breasts or thighs, or 12 minutes for frozen chicken.
- When the cooking time is complete, allow a natural pressure release for 5 minutes, then carefully perform a quick release to release any remaining pressure.
- Open the lid and transfer the chicken to a large bowl.
- Use two forks to shred the chicken into bite-sized pieces.
- Return the shredded chicken to the pot to soak up the juices or use immediately in your favorite recipe.
